The Calm Before The Storm

Whenever we go to Anne and Michee's house we always end up spending at least 5 hours longer than anticipated over at their place. This evening was actually 8 hours longer than planned. This time was a little different then most. We arrived to have a coffee with them and they had some crazy french polka sounding music playing, but there was this sense of calm masking the quirky tunes pouring out of the speakers. They are about to give birth any day now! So we wanted to get a quick little visit in before the wonderful chaotic mess begins.

I bombarded Anne with a billion and ten questions about how she was feeling, what she expects, how she has felt during her pregnancy etc. I am sure I had already asked her many of the questions before, but this time was a bit different. She is so READY! Michee and her had this serene sense of calmness. Of course they are a bit anxious about what's to come, but they have read all of the books, prepped the rooms, have the over night bag ready and are all set for this next journey!! They are going to be the best parents, this sweet babe doesn't know yet just how much it's going to be loved.

J & I are pretty good at making things weird, so after an intense game of Rummie 500, I decided it was time for an impromptu photoshoot.

Now that's a belly <3 She was due January.11th. Come onnnnn baby

Conor, Hannah & the Shoe Shop

Guess who we got to meet up with in Halifax?! Yep! You guessed it, our favourite Irishman.. Conor!!!! I had talked about how we met this crazy man here. Anywho, we met up with him at the shoe shop for a couple of drinks. A couple of drinks ended up to be a couple 5. I drank waaaaayyy to many virgin caesars and club sodas, it was insane. We had a great time, filled with many laughs, just as we expected. Love that man. So happy to hear he has fallen in love with the East Coast, now he just needs to fall in love with Morgan and my life will be complete. (p.s. Why can't every man have an Irish accent?)

Cousins

Two of my cousins share something soooo special with me!

I have talked about Rhianna and her amazing voice on here more than a few times. This post has nothing to do with her voice, as we definitely don't share the talented singing voice. I am WAY better! What we do share is a love for the Hopkins Hunks. During the wedding week we definitely teased my beautiful cousin and my handsome brother in law on numerous occasions about the fact that they should be dating. All of our hard work paid off!! As off last month, they officially started dating! Uhhhhm Sister Cousins? Yes, Please!!!

Now, my other cousin Erin is expecting as well. We just found out our due dates are only two days apart!! How exciting would that be if we had our babes the same day?!

Sunday Din

Back home in Manitoba my Grams & Gramps hosted an early Christmas for J & I. It was nice to be all jammed in the same room with them for a special Sunday dinner. We received our babies first presents which was totally surreal for J & I. Christmas next year is going to be extra special!!!

Jingle Bells

J & I had a nice quiet Christmas, just the two of us orrr 3 of us, no 6 of us :p. I had a pretty nasty cold so I was happy to just stay at home and watch movies. This was definitely the one and only Christmas that was going to be spent totally by ourselves, and we enjoyed every minute of it.

We needed a family fix, so on Boxing day we drove down to Halifax to stay with some family. We had a fabulously relaxing time.
