And I Will Swallow My Pride
I shazamed this song a while ago and then when I heard it on The Voice the other night I fell in love with it all over again. I think I like it even better with Christina

Once When I Was Little
I think pets and little's are the best teachers out there. My "kids" have taught me so much about being a better person and each day I try to live my life a little more like them.
No, I am not going to start eating dirt or pee on trees/myself or chase deer.
I mean, be happy. Be so excited when you see something/someone you like. Enjoy life's little pleasures. Who cares if you get dirty? Or wet? Take naps when you're tired or atleast have some quiet time. Explore. Be curious. Be crazy, get real weird with it and who cares who is watching. Use your imagination. Love unconditionally. Why do we allow ourselves to hold grudges for years and years? Live each day at a time. Dream, dream BIG. Be empathetic.
It's so fun to watch our families & friends turn so childlike when they are around Willow. Their voices get higher, they laugh more, they play more and they just have a glow around them. So beautiful.
Yes, I get that if we all acted just like our kiddos the world just wouldn't work. I am just saying that people are waaaaaay too serious these days. We lose this playful nature somewhere, that nature that we all were born with. Society molds us into these all consuming blobs. We need to rekindle our relationships with that inner child that lives within all of us.
ps I must thank my parents for always promoting silliness to this day :)
As I was typing this post James Morrison - Once when I was little started playing on my I-Pod, I kid you not!!!! I instantly got the chills. Uhhhmmm couldn't be more fitting

I love watching these to run around the beach together. They love to explore and smell everything. Such little goofballs
Here is Timbit stalking a deer, keep dreaming big buddy
Willows eyes are always so full of wonder. I love exploring with her and teaching her new things. We have spent many hours digging in the dirt and burying tiny toes in the sand.

Winter Fun With Jaye
I am always saying how we moved here at the worst time. Everything is shut down for the winter and everyone's summer homes sit here looking so sad. They just hang out and yearn for winter to be over and summer to begin so they have their owners fill them with love, laughter, warmth, and life. Yes, I am overly sensitive and get sad for abandoned homes, ghost towns, trees that sit all by themselves, fallen leaves (even though they look so pretty) etc, but let's not even get into that :p.
I really don't have much to complain about because we have been so busy with visitors and visiting. It's making this winter fly by! I love it. We still haven't met any friends here besides Les and Mark (Mark is moving though) but that's ok because our old friends are awesome and we get to hang out with them a lot!
My best friend Jaye came out here for a weekend and it was so nice to have girl time.
I took her to a house concert at a B&B close by. Have you ever been to a house concert? Talk about intimate. It's so nice that a local place hosts these four times a year. You bring your own booze, bring a snack to share and everyone cozes into the living room and listens to some awesome music. That night they were featuring Red Moon Road.
They are a wicked Manitoban band and play a good diverse mix of tunes. Check em' out http://www.redmoonroad.com/
They had some fun winter activities going on this winter. It's so weird even seeing a couple of people out and about as it doesn't happen often. You forget that people actually live here besides us and tourists just stopping by for the day.

Not pictured: Wine, gossip, wedding talk, major relaxation, & tea

I like partaking in any kind of eating activity
Instead of walking on the nice snow plowed roads, J likes to take us on adventures.
A couple of locals slept in the "snow hotel" that weekend. It was very cozy
My tallest friend and my two shortest friends

Tuesdays Tunes
People always ask me where I find my music. I am a huge dork and can spend hours on youtube. I will look up a song I love and look at the related videos. I am pretty sure it was Soja helped me find Trevor Hall a couple of years back. My love for him was sparked again when a fb friend posted a video of him. He has about 9 or 10 albums and all of them are so good & different.

Running Free We Knew We Were LuckyTo Be Running Free Living Life In Paradise
Tuesdays Tunes
Those of you that know me in real life know that I LOVE to reminisce about when I lived on Oahu, Hawaii. The beaches, the people, and the experiences. What made Hawaii soo special to me was the people I met. I was so blessed to make lifelong friends and even friends I would call my best friends. One of my best friends Shestin (who lives in Maui) sent me a message a couple of weeks ago telling me to check out this song. He told me it reminded him of Katie (who lives in Ohio) and I's friendship. I thought it was really sweet that he was thinking of me and my other best friend. And then when I looked the song up I was in tears. It's like the song was written about our friendship. I miss all of my Hawaii friends especially my two besties. xoxoxoxo

One Step Closer
20 Weeks
We went to our ultrasound Friday and got to have a little peek of our sweet babe. Baby was dancing around like crazy so the tech was having a hard time getting clear shots. She snapped a cute one of the babe opening and closing the mouth. We both were totally amazed that we had created something so special together and at the same time a little weirded out that I grew a nose, eyeballs, bones, brain etc inside my body. Life is such an amazing/crazy thing. I'll show you a couple of the cute ones, some of them were just plain scary as our babe looked like an alien ghost thing. Oh and the tech gave us an awesome picture of both of the legs but after dissecting it for hours I have a pretty good idea of what we are having!! I will keep that to myself until the babe is born :D
We had such a great day Friday. Got to see pictures of our baby, went for sushi, dragged J to The Vow (he loved it), and then went grocery shopping. Ahhh it's nice to be together. I missed having my partner in crime. However I ruined the day of course and blamed it all on J. It's my hormones I promise. J pointed out a kitten running around the busy grocery store parking lot right beside a busy road and I screamed "we need to pick it up!!!!" J then tried to explain how many stray cats there are and I burst into tears and told him he ruined my day. I screamed "WHY WOULD YOU POINT THAT OUT TO ME!?!?!" The crying definitely lasted a good half hour and I pouted the entire hour and a half drive home. Woooops!!!! We can now laugh about it, but I am sure that kitten lived with it's family behind the grocery store, that's what I have convinced myself to believe. :)
Back to baby, I CAN'T WAIT TO MEET YOU. Your daddy and I love you so much already. Back when I was 11 weeks pregnant your dad kept playing a thousand years by Christina Perri over and over and over again. I thought he really loved the new Twilight movie a little too much. He had memorized the words and would dance in the kitchen nightly to this song. He in fact was thinking of you!!! Yep, you are going to be adored xoxo

Strange as you are to me
It's one of those days where you got the shakes, you can't stand without getting dizzy, your nose aches it's so filled with boogs, and you're throat aches for more tea. I am making the best of it by listening to my favourite songs of the week and downing gallons of this weeks tea addiction.
Meet Mother's Little Helper from Davids Tea. As tasteless as my buds are I can still taste a bit of that peppermint. Everything about this tea begs to be enjoyed. The loose buds are beautiful and when you steep it, it turns into this beautiful rose colour. This tea is meant to be shared. Try it :)
As for music, I am currently obsessing over a couple tunes this week.
I have always loved Sia. This song makes me wish I had the energy to do my arm sway dance with a couple of heart pounds. I got the whiny face down perfect. Ugh just imagine a ballerina dancing to this, perfection.
Miike Snow always perks me up. I always have to shake my hips and do hand flicks to this song :)
Iron & Wine is always my go to. I love every single one of there songs. Currently lusting over In my Lady's house. It goes perfect with a woodstove, a stormy night, a glass of wine and your love.
And of course Paradise from the new Coldplay album. It's going to be overplayed soooo soon so I am enjoying it before I am totally sick of it. Para Para Paradise.. Brilliant

It's My Birthday Month!
I got to have three birthday cakes this month, how lucky is that?
My first Birthday celebration was spent in my hometown in Manitoba.
My second Birthday celebration was spent at our friends place in town here. We had a fabulous night filled with sharades, dancing, a turkey dinner, and a birthday cake :)
My third Birthday celebration was on my actual Birthday. J and I went for a drive down to the south part of the island and caught a Celtic Colours show. We had amazing night, the music was incredible and the fall colours we enjoyed on the drive was just as incredible! xx
I am so blessed :)

Earth Hour!!
Don't forget to power down this evening!! I'll never forget my most memorable Earth hour. It was three years at the Hawksley Workman concert in the Burton Cummings Theatre in Winnipeg. Most romantic, intimate concert I have ever been too. Obviously this video doesn't do the experience justice but wow what a feeling.
He is actually playing in Winnipeg April.8th at the West End Cultural centre. If you live in Manitoba do yourself a favour and check them out. I miss them by a week :( Watch the Piano Blink vid it's a low budget video filmed in the Portage Place mall. Such a good tune

You know I love you, I know you love me
Sorry, I'll try to keep my seal posts to a minimum. I just think they are the cutest things I have ever seen and am feeling very lucky to be able to walk two minutes to watch them!!! :)
Back to my other obsession.... music. For those who know me really well, they know Tristan Prettyman is my all time fave. She will def be joining J and I at our wedding through my other fave singer, my cousin Rhianna. Every time I hear Rhianna sing I get choked up, because she is so very talented and I am so proud!! When she belts out some Tristan Prettyman tunes I weep. So this could may very well be a bad thing to combine on my wedding day. No, its probably the best.
And the lovely Tristan Prettyman
