Road Trip Day 7 & 8

Road Trip Day 7 Quebec - New Brunswick - Nova Scotia

We said our see yah laters to Anne-Claude and Noah. It still hadn't clicked in that we are moving away and won't get to see them whenever we please. So I didn't get all sappy and emotional like I usually do. I know we will keep in touch with Anne, Michee, & Noah, they have definitely become great friends.  I am looking forward to Noah and Willow meeting up again when they are older.

Ugh So Gorgeous
Drive by photo of an amazing waterfall

After driving for only about a half hour we saw a sign for a hike & waterfall... our two favorite things! We obviously had to make a pit stop and were happy we did.

Willow really loved all of the red leaves :p

After that beautiful little hike we got back in the car and drove through  New Brunswick and stopped for the night in Amherst, Nova Scotia.
My sleepy babes, how sweet are these two?

Day 8 Nova Scotia - Cape Breton

The final day we were all exhausted and tired of being in the car. We were excited to pick up the doggies from their "doggie resort". They shared a heated chalet on four acres of land. There was 12 other dogs staying at the resort so they made a lot of new friends over the week and had just as much fun as we did, I'm sure.

And that's it, that's all. We had a phenomenal vacay and hope to visit Quebec again!

Road Trip Day 6

Road Trip Day 6 Quebec

I spent the morning lazing around with the babies while Anne sold apples, and J braved the grocery store as an anglophone in a francophone community.

So I guess Willow is big for her age haha 6 months apart

We spent the afternoon at Mont Sainte Anne. I obviously had to pick up some poutine the real stuff with cheese curds, it did not disappoint!

Poutine a delicious Canadian delicacy ;)
Noah and Willow tied for being the cutest babes around
The leaves make me so unbelievably giddy. I get soooo excited from these colours
After stuffing our faces with the good stuff, a hike was definitely needed. Just across the road there was a beautiful hike that led to a stunning waterfall.

If you look at the left hand corner there is a little brown spot..

A beaver! I snuck as close as I could without disturbing him.

After such a beauty of a day we went back to drink beer and sell apples...
What a jokester.

Road Trip Day 5 Continued

Road Trip Day 5 Continued

Quebec City is absolutely gorgeous. I highly recommend a visit out there. I wish we would have stayed longer to tour more of the city, I absolutely fell in love with what I did see. Old Quebec happened to be my fave! Buildings that are 100's of years old that still stand tall and proud. I have never been to Europe but from the pictures that I have seen there is a lot of similarities. It did not feel like I was in Canada, it is so different than anything I have ever seen. So stunning!

We went to an awesome place for dinner on an outdoor patio. We had a feast of wine, mussels, pizza, fries, salmon, and salad

Road Trip Day 3

Halifax Day 3

After going to three Starbucks I finally found one that wasn't sold out of pumpkin spice lattes!! I was getting very very nervous that I was not going to get to finally have my favorite fall treat. Remember living up in the middle of nowhere doesn't give you a fair chance to indulge in the finer things in life as such. :p When I finally got to breath in the scent of fall I nearly peed with excitement. So you can imagine how the first sip was... ahhhh Yep, I am pretty easy to please.

I got to go on my once a year shopping trip in an actual mall with more than 15 stores!!! That was pretty exciting too!! J, Willow, and I got some pretty nice attire for winter. We then went to visit more family members on J's side :)

Willow loves her new puppy puppets

Willow and her Great Auntie Marm

Joel & Jo-Anne. Joel has the baby touch! Willow loved all of the attention he gave her... so adorable

After an afternoon of visits we went back to Uncle John and Aunt Rosie's to eat and relax. As always they were too good to us. It was awesome to see Hannah as well.

Road Trip Day 1 & 2

My little family went on a little adventure to Quebec to go and help our friend Anne with her parents apple orchard. We were pretty pumped to fit in a visit to Halifax with J's side of the family en route. It was a perfect chance for me to visit the Valley which I have heard so much about. Unfortunately it was pissing rain but nonetheless it was gorgeous!

Here is the beginning of our trip...

Shortly after I snapped this shot baby Willow needed a little snack to tie her over. So we parked beside the beautiful St. Mary's River in Sherbrooke. As soon as we pulled over a man pulled up and asked if we were going to go kayaking. We said no we just made a pit stop to feed the babe and then he started telling us his life story. He was a retired teacher, his wife and him owned 40 acres of land in Sherbrooke, his son and daughter-in-law were coming up next week for a kayak trip but he was nervous because she is 3 months pregnant and the story went on. After he finished up with his stories he apologized and offered us to use his house which was right behind the river so we could feed and change our babe. We didn't take him up on it simply because we wanted to be in Halifax before dark.

I don't know what it is but Canadian East Coasters are definitely the friendliest people I have ever met in my life. The are so genuine and kind! Canadians are know for their friendliness but the Eastern folk are over the top.

Day 1: Drive to Halifax
haha I didn't have time to snap a better shot but Grams this is for you! I missed the Harbour
Aunt Rosie snatched Willow right up

Day 2: We drove to the valley and then went down to Lunenberg and Mahone Bay. It was pouring rain so we didn't do much walking around. But I would love to venture back on a bright sunny day.

J had Scot Skins on his mind. He went to University at Acadia in Wolfville for 2 years and ever since I have know him he has been talking about these Scot Skins he used to eat at Joes. So we ordered a plate and I get the hype. They were potato skins with some kind of curry on them. Sooo goood. I obviously had to order poutine as well and the poutine didn't even compare to the Scot Skins.

I have decided I want land and I want a pumpkin patch...

And then I can make friends like these guys...

Mahone Bay is absolutely gorgeous. We didn't spend much time there because of a relay which filled the streets and it was so wet. Rather than taking some scenic shots out of the car I took a couple pictures of the creepy stuffed figures spread around the town for Halloween. They were seriously EVERYWHERE. So weird and creepy.. I liked it.

J was pretty pumped to see a ship from Whale Wars at the Lunenburg harbour.

The Blue Nose II was launched that day so we were pretty happy we got to see her in the water.
 The Main Street of Lunenburg

Hannah (J's cousin) & J were desperate to find the Lunenburg Tim Hortons and we ended up driving around for about a half hour. We kept coming back to this old school from the early 1800's which is still being used as an Elementary School. I got to read up about this beauty while they were desperately gps'ing.
