38/39/40/41 Weeks Pregnant

(I wrote this on Dec.23rd, the day before I    gave birth)

Well ladies and gentleman, boys and girls.... I am still pregnant. My intuition for pregnancy totally blows. I thought this babe was going to be an early one as I am so huge but no such luck! We arrived at our cabin at 37 1/2 ish weeks and everyone was telling me I was crazy for leaving town so late. I was pretty nervous myself as I wasn't prepared to give birth in the car on a mountain with no cell service. So I had a wee bit of anxiety until we arrived at our cabin where there are services.

When we first arrived I was so stoked and at ease. The cabin is a teeny tiny one bedroom, one bath and everything else is jammed into the main living area. It's very cozy and charming and being right on the water isn't so bad either. The first week I soaked up the salty air, took a lot of pictures, kept Willow super busy, it was perfect. My mom arrived the second week we were here and took over Willow duty. My mom is staying at a friends place who is out of town which has worked out really well!

My due date which was Dec.15th-20th so my due "week" has come and gone. Daddio arrived on the 16th so I was happy the babe didn't come before then. But sheesh he has been here for over a week, you can come out anytime baby!

I am slowly losing my mind. I had even said a couple of weeks back to my midwife that I felt sorry for women who go past their due dates and that waiting game must be so hard. Aw man, what a way to jinx myself haha. I think the waiting game wouldn't be so bad if I was at my own house, with a little more space to myself.

I am not normally a negative Nancy but I am over being pregnant. I feel like my body was just not made for this big of a baby. My pelvis is so sore so walking very far is out of the question. And my skin honestly will not stretch anymore without ripping. I loaded on bio oil the other day and I broke out in hives all over my belly which has made me even more itchy. Sleep, what is that? My body won't allow me to rest as I have been having contractions for the past week that wake me and my bladder is also guilty for this as well. I know this will all be worth it in the end and those newborn snuggles will be just the best ever!

Please baby come out soon before your momma goes crrrraaazzzyyy.

I am really hoping this will be my very last pregnancy picture!!

Willow, Willow, Willow

Obviously Willow and I have always been very close, she is my little girl, and we have that beautiful mother/daughter bond. But aiiiiii maybe I am just feeling guilty about this second babe, it seems these past couple of months we have formed an even bigger bond. One that I can't even put into words. Poor Jon is always the third wheel because my little sidekick and I are inseparable.

She finds this whole new baby thing pretty confusing. And I feel she knows the time is near as we have been getting everything ready for his arrival. So she has been extra sucky and acting out a bit, poor thing and us! I am anxious about how it will all pan out when he arrives. I know people have second, and third, and fourth, and fifth etc babies all of the time but I am just feeling so guilty that she won't be getting my undivided attention. I know everything will fall into place and work out but this is what I am feeling the most anxious about.

Here is a little update on our Willow:

-she is such a hilarious little goofball. She will do anything for a laugh.

- Willow is very empathetic and sweet. Ill have a contraction and make an ooh sound and she will come racing over " are you ok my mama!?" With concern written all over her face. If someone is sad in a movie she will close her eyes or look away and tears will form in her eyes and she will say " are they happy now mama?" It's heartbreaking

- if she is throwing one of her terrible two tantrums, which happens a lot these days. The way we get her to stop crying is by asking her where happy Willow is. She will usually reply with " I happy now mama, daddy."

- the way she says "chocolate chip cookies" is Jon and my most favourite thing ever.

- she LOVES animals and is very gentle and sweet.

-when she is really feeling a tune she tosses her head back, closes her eyes and gets right into it.

- she is terrified of beeyahs and igers aka bears and tigers. And talks about them all of the time.

- going on bawks (walks) is her favourite pass time.

-she is still a little fashionista and is very particular about what she wears.

- as "girly" as she is, she isn't afraid to get dirty or throw down in a road hockey match.

- she is very moody! One minute she is sad the next she is laughing hysterically.

-still not picky with food but her appetitive has definitely slowed down a bit.

- she loves a good snuggle. I don't know where she learned this new way of kissing but when she kisses you she likes to put both hands on your face and gives you a long long long kiss. If you wear glasses she will take them off, put them behind her back and give you a long long long kiss. Haha she is so passionate with everything she does.

- Willow has a lot of boyfriends to play with so the minute she spots a little girl she copies everything that girl does. Willow is a big copy cat!

- she finds beauty in every little thing

- she loves makeup and looking at herself in the mirror. I don't know where she gets this from bc I never wear make up, because I am much too lazy.

- she is a dancing queen. From the moment she wakes she is dancing, on her tippy toes of course, until she goes to bed. She also loves to sing.

- she tends to show Jon attitude. If she doesn't agree with what he says to her she says very sternly "No, Jonny, no"! Such a brat.

- she does most of her pees on the potty, last week she started pooping in her hand rather than her pull up. Soooo nasty. She has been really good this week for using the toilet, thank god

- she is obsessed with mermaids

- she doesn't stop moving, ever. She is such a busy body.

- daddy puts her to bed every night and they have a ritual of a couple of books, red light green light, and two songs.

- she loves naps and will put herself down when she is ready.

- she is exactly like me which scares the poop out of Jon. Jon cannot wait for this boy in hopes that he will be his partner in crime. It's fun for me to have a mini-me because all we do is laugh.

37 Weeks

I am going to be meeting my guy soon! I officially finished work on Tuesday which made it a little bit more real that I get to spend all of my days and nights with not one but two precious little ones.

When we get to our cabin we are staying in we will decide if we are going to do a "home" birth or hospital birth. I know I forsure want to labour in a bath so I can relax as much as possible during my contractions. We will go for a hospital tour and then decide from there.

Symptoms: My skin won't stretch any further without those lovely little marks popping out. I lucked out with Willow and didn't get any stretch marks but this little guy is not letting me get away scot-free!

Some days I want to eat my face off and other days I have to force myself to eat something.

I am getting more Braxton hicks contractions.

I am nesting big time. I have everything for the babe washed and ready!

Movements: He isn't moving as much as he used to. There just isn't enough room for him to do his ninja moves. When he does do a little stretch it feels like he is going to bust through my skin.

Cravings: Icey gingerale, Icey water, juicy grapes

Weight gain: last week I was up 21lbs. And he was measuring at 32.5 weeks. Totally shocking news as I thought I was measuring bigger than what I should be.

Sleep: I am restless at night but my naps are still amazing!

35 & 36 Weeks Pregnant

Warning: whine sesh is about to go down!

I am starting to feel a little bit of anxiety with this birth. Only because of where we live. We don't get into our rental until Dec.1 and I would just like to be there already. Fortunately we live in a fabulous town filled with fabulous people but unfortunately it is at the edge of Earth and you must travel over a slippery mountain with no service for over an hour to get a hospital and 2.5 hours to my midwives. So just say this little guy wanted to make an early appearance the chance of having him in the car is higher than normal. Also my parents haven't booked their flight out here yet and I worry about Willow even if we are in  Comox. I don't want her to be at the birth.

On a good note, a friend gave me a box filled with newborn & 0-3 month clothes. So exciting! I washed them all up and they are ready to be filled with squishy cuteness.

Symptoms: this babe and my body are totally getting ready for the big day. I am larger than life and just walking is really hard on the old pelvis. I am having a lot of contractions and cramping that make me keel over. He is hugging my bladder more than ever. I have developed a full on waddle, I am still peeing my pants, and I groan when I sit down or stand up. Soooooo sexy! Ohh and my belly button popped, it never did with Willow and this little guy has stretched me out so bad that my belly is getting new stretch marks every day.

I really want to continue with my long beach walks and hikes but I am honestly a little bit scared. When I was out walking with Willow and Jon the other day I had to lay down on the beach for a half bc I was getting really dizzy, nauseated and crampy. I wouldn't be as concerned if we were a wee but closer to my midwives.

Cravings: icy cold gingerale and peanut anything.

Movements: Big, strong movements all of the time. Not a lot of room for him to roll around anymore! So lots of hard jabs that shock me every time.

Sleep: naps are the BEST! Not sleeping at night all that well but boy oh boy do I love that Willow loves to nap!! We are pro nappers.

Mood: happy! Obviously more irritable than norm but I am happy and can't wait to meet my other BFF!

I am looking forward to my midwife appt this Friday! Maybe I will ask her to do a cervix check to ease my mind! Ohhh boy the time is getting near!!!

My apologies for the cheese ball selfies. Someone teach me how to selfie, please!

33 Weeks Pregnant

Sorry baby, but posts about my pregnancy with you are a wee bit pathetic. I will try and blog your first year of life better :)

I have another appointment with my midwives next week and am looking forward to checking out the place we will call home next month.

Size: Baby is the same size as a pineapple. I am hilariously large.  Eating almost a full box of Halloween chocolates to myself is probably not helping this situation. Whooooooooppppsssss. I have gained close to 30lbs but I feel more like 60 extra lbs at the moment.

Symptoms: Still peeing my pants daily. It's only happened at home so far so it's not as embarrassing.

Yesterday, I was having some crazy contractions which left me in the fetal position on my bedroom floor. I only had two in a row, Dr. Jenna googled what to do in between contractions. And downing a whole whack load of water and laying on my left side seemed to help. I have had some light Braxton hicks today but nothing like yesterday. Thankfully Jon is home now so I have some help if need be.

My belly button didn't pop with Willow, but this time it is on the verge. My belly button is so huge right now, it looks freakish.

I am leaking some colostrum now. The boobies are getting ready to be ravaged.

Movements: This guys is strong! He is still very active and since he has grown so big he packs quite a punch/kick.

Mood: Getting sleepy again

Just over a month a way little fella. We can't wait to cover you with smooches and snuggles.

When I look at this picture I can't even believe it's me!

Pumpkin Pickin'

Fall is the best isn't it? Thanksgiving, Halloween, my Birthday, huge cozy sweaters, fat pants, beautiful colours, storms, pumpkin everything, and preparing for hibernation aka eating our faces off.

We had a fabulous weekend! I finally used my spa gift card and got my massage and facial, so good.  The spa is perched on a cliff which is perfect for storm watching, and the waves were going off that day. After my treatments I just lounged in the resting area and enjoyed every single second of my alone time. The next day we went to a pumpkin patch which had a little petting zoo, tractor and pony rides.  Willow hasn't stopped talking about it ever since. Her faves was definitely the pony ride and feeding the baby goats. Those of you who have kids in your life, isn't it fun to see the beauty and wonder through their eyes?! I am already young at heart but things just make me extra giddy and happy seeing Willows excitement.

These photo's are from my cell and camera so the quality isn't the greatest on some of of them. Cute, nonetheless
